Africa-Press – Ghana. Pastor Dr Edward K. Tumsiah, the National Overseer of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry (DCLM) Ghana has inaugurated the Middle-Belt Zone of the Ministry, with a call on the Christians to help tackle the growing trend of moral decadence in society.
The Middle-Belt Zone comprises Deeper Life Bible Church (DLBC) in the Bono, Bono East and Ahafo Regions.
Delivering a sermon on the topic: “The true test of piety in Christ church” at a joint church service which coincided with the inauguration ceremony at Sunyani, Pastor Dr Tumsiah urged Christians to live exemplary lives.
He emphasised that Christianity without holy living, righteousness and obedience to God was vain and a mere society, asking Christians to adhere to teachings, and doctrines of the Bible and strive for peaceful co-existence and social cohesion.
Pastor Dr Tumsiah said in living godly lives, Christians could influence and shape society positively, thereby stemming the growing trend of social ills, like corruption, murders, adultery, substance abuse, and intense desire for lust and the likes.
“In fact, the church becomes a mere society when its members are not living holy lives,” he stated, saying true biblical piety was characterised by the traits of holiness, obedience worship and selfless service to God and mankind.
Pastor Dr Tumsiah referenced Mathew chapter 15 verses 10 and 11, and urged Christian to strive more in prayer and sought a new heart from God, saying until the heart was circumcised and transformed by Jesus Christ, the Captain of the Christian faith, it would be difficult for anyone to live righteously and eschew evil.
He explained that presently the DCLM Ghana was undergoing restructuring and had divided the church into seven administrative zones including Eastern and Volta, Northern, Ashanti Zone ‘A’, Ashanti Zone ‘B’, Greater Accra and Western/Central and the Middle-Belt Zones.
He said the Western and Central Zones had already been inaugurated, explaining that the zoning were necessary for the church to improve efficiency, financial, social, moral, administrative and accountability.
That would also facilitate better resource allocation, streamline communication, as well as push a more structured and effective systems for managing the operations of the church and ultimately advance membership and outreaches, finance, stewardship, communication and media, he said.
Pastor Dr Tumsiah explained that each of the zones was supervised by a Coordinating Regional Overseer, and expressed the hope that the pastors, workers and members of the church would cooperate with and support the overseers to advance the holistic growth and development of the church.
The National Overseer later inducted the Zonal and Departmental Heads as well as the Zonal Committee members into office.
