Africa-Press – Ghana. Togbe Afede XIV, the Agbogbomefia of the Asogli State and President of the Asogli Traditional Area, has thrown his support behind the upcoming Tour du Ghana cycling event, reaffirming his long-standing commitment to sports and tourism development.

The renowned business mogul and former President of the National House of Chiefs said his endorsement of the cycling event reflects his belief in sports as a catalyst for youth empowerment, discipline, and national unity.

During a courtesy call led by Togbe Adabra, alongside officials from the Ghana Cycling Federation (GCF) and the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC), Togbe Afede commended the organisers for their dedication to staging the 10th edition of the Tour du Ghana.

He described the event as a landmark initiative that elevates Ghana’s image in African cycling and sports tourism.

“Sports build character, unity, and hope. The Tour du Ghana is a powerful way to bring people together while showcasing our country’s beauty and talent,” he stated.

Togbe Afede XIV, celebrated for his visionary leadership and philanthropy, has over the years played an influential role in advancing Ghana’s sporting landscape.

As Board Chairman of Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club, he led efforts to modernise the club’s administration, strengthen player welfare, and enhance infrastructure development.

Beyond football, Togbe Afede XIV has supported youth and community sports initiatives across the Volta Region and beyond, promoting sports as a tool for national transformation and social inclusion.

Togbe Adabra, on behalf of the GCF and the GOC, expressed deep appreciation for Togbe Afede’s endorsement, noting that his involvement lends significant national recognition and credibility to the event.

“With Togbe Afede’s support, the Tour du Ghana has gained an invaluable ally whose advocacy for sports and tourism inspires greater investment in Ghana’s athletic and economic potential,” he said.

The Tour du Ghana 2025, scheduled for November 13 to 24, promises to be more than a cycling competition. It will serve as a celebration of national unity, youth empowerment, sports tourism, and the enduring spirit of Ghanaian sportsmanship.
