Africa-Press – Ghana. 2030 Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Business Plan and Universal WASH Service Coverage Initiative, aiming to accelerate access to safe water and sanitation nationwide.
The launch is slated for Wednesday, November 26, 2025 in Accra on the theme: “Mapping the Blue Thread”.
The strategy aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 6, which calls for universal access to clean water and sanitation, and supports World Vision’s global pledge to reach 50 million people with sustainable WASH services by 2030.
In Ghana, the plan targets 23 districts over the next five to seven years and integrates WASH interventions with livelihoods, education, and health programmes to boost community resilience.
The event would bring together senior government officials, development partners, civil society groups, private sector actors, donors, UN agencies, academics and media representatives.
Activities would include keynote speeches, the presentation of Ghana’s roadmap for universal WASH coverage, and a panel discussion featuring community voices and service providers.
Exhibitions of emerging WASH technologies and innovations would also be showcased, culminating in the unveiling of a national WASH slogan and a pledge-signing ceremony to reinforce commitment to sustainable services.
Through this initiative, World Vision Ghana seeks to strengthen partnerships and mobilise collective action to ensure every Ghanaian has access to safe and equitable WASH services.
