Africa-Press – Ghana. This year’s Avenor Tutudoza, festival, celebrated by the Chiefs and people of Avenor Traditional Area, has begun with a call on all to embrace every segment of the festival’s programme outline.
This year’s celebration which commences with a Children’s Durbar on Friday, is on the theme, “Securing the Future of Avenor through Skills Acquisition, Employment and Economic Growth,”
Torgbui Tali Gafatsi III, Chairman of the festival’s Central Planning Committee, in an engagement with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) ahead of the events, appealed to all, both indigenes and non-indigenes, to fully participate in the entire festive period.
He said activities such as the annual pilgrimage to Datsutagba, a clean-up exercise, fashion show, health walk, youth forum, beauty pageant, sports gala, musical concert, and others would mark this year’s celebrations.
Torgbui Gafatsi explained that the festival would serve as a call to all sons and daughters from Avenor to bring employment opportunities to the youth of the area.
He also appealed to businesses and individuals to support the festival which he described as ‘one of the most vibrant festivals’ in Volta and beyond.
Avenor Tutudoza is celebrated by the Chiefs and people of Avenor, serving as an invitation to all sons and daughters of Avenor, as well as non-indigenes, to visit and witness the community’s vibrancy, and support all efforts in building a better Traditional Area.
It would be climaxed by a grand durbar on Saturday, November 29 at the Akatsi Central Market lorry station where several dignitaries are expected to grace the event.
The festival is celebrated under the royal patronage of Torgbui Dorglo Anumah VI President of Avenor Traditional Council and Paramount Chief of the Avenor Traditional Area, and Mama Yeasidi III, the Paramount Queen Mother of Avenor.
