She commended the chiefs for releasing land for the projects and urged other chiefs in the constituency to emulate the beneficiary chiefs for development projects in their areas.

According to her, on paper the projects should have been completed within six months, but engagement with the contractors had shortened it to four months.

She explained that, government under the leadership of President John Dramani Mahama had allocated 80 per cent of the Common Fund to each assembly for specific projects which Awutu-Senya West was not left out.

Stressing on the pledge of the NDC government, she stated that it remained dedicated to developing rural communities across the country and that she would play her part for the mandate she was voted for, to help make Awutu-Senya West one of the best.

She cautioned the contractors against failing the Assembly, or the entire people of Awutu-Senya, because they would not accept any inferior work.

Mr Nyamekye stated that the Assembly together with the MP, had targeted eight projects to be executed within four years and three, namely Gizzy care, Water for life, and back to school projects have been started.

He explained that in the reset agenda of the NDC government, President Mahama’s Mahama cares project would carter for sickness not covered by the National Health Insurance Scheme.

In Awutu-Senya West, the DCE said they have Gizzy cares, a health intervention project, water for life project to ensure that the citizenry had potable water in their localitiescommunities atto school project to ensure that more school blocks were built in every community.

He said they had projected to construct at least three CHPS every year, with one already commissioned at Obrachire while sod had been cut for work to begin in two other communities at Akrampa and Oklu Nkwanta.

Persons who have not yet joined the NHIS were also being registered free of charge, hospital beds, equipment and other consumables were being supplied, while renovation works were to be carried out at the various health facilities, the DCE added.

On the back to school project, more schools would be provided with furniture, teaching and learning materials to help enrol all children of school going age in the district.

Under the Water for Life, repairs of all the non-functioning boreholes would be done and new ones drilled to connect communities without pipe born water.

“Without cohesion no development can take place, hence the need for us all to unite and embrace peace and support the government, MP and Assembly for more developmental projects in the district,” Mr Nyamekye added.

The chiefs, in their speeches expressed appreciation to the government, the MP and the DEC for the projects and assured that they would work together to support the contractors in delivering on their mandate within the scheduled period.
