Africa-Press – Ghana. Mr. Kwabena Agyei Agyapong, a former General secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has visited Atebubu in the Bono East Region to rally support from delegates ahead of the party’s election of a Presidential candidate.
He met delegates from Atebubu Amantin, Sene East, Sene West, Pru East, and Pru West Constituencies at the Atebubu Church of Pentecost.
Mr.Agyapong emphasized his commitment to lead the party to victory, citing his experience as spokesperson and former general secretary of the party.
He described 2028 as a critical moment for the NPP and expressed confidence of leading the party to victory and restoring hope in Ghana with the delegates’ support.
He positioned himself as a unifying figure, appealing to party members, who had left the NPP, particularly Mr. Alan Kyerematen to return to the NPP, stating that the party was founded on sacrifice, not privilege.
Mr. Agyapong, who is number four on the ballot, urged delegates to elect him as the party’s flag bearer for the 2028 general elections.
He said his campaign had gained attraction across several regions, reflecting renewed grassroots mobilization and increasing confidence among delegates and emphasised integrity, service, and renewal within the party and the nation.
The NPP is scheduled to hold its presidential primaries in January 2026 to choose a flag bearer for the 2028 general election.
