Africa-Press – Ghana. Mr Prince Manu Morris, the Amansie West District Chief Executive (DCE), has reiterated the government’s commitment to improving the road network within the district.
He said a good road network played a critical role in enhancing trade, agriculture, education, healthcare delivery, and the overall living conditions of the people. The government, through the district assembly, would therefore continue to work to improve road conditions in communities across the district.
Speaking to journalists after inspecting the Omanadwaye–Mim Junction road project to assess progress of work, Mr Morris noted that the absence of tarred roads in the district had long impeded economic activities and limited access to essential services.
He said the National Democratic Congress government would prioritise the road needs of the district and assured residents that sustained advocacy and collaboration with relevant agencies would help accelerate road development and boost economic activities in the area.
The inspection tour, he explained, was to ensure that construction was progressing in line with approved specifications to guarantee quality work.
The DCE urged the contractor to adhere strictly to quality standards, safety regulations, and project timelines, stressing that the assembly would not compromise on the durability and safety of the road.
He also appealed to residents along the corridor to support the project by cooperating with workers and safeguarding construction materials to facilitate smooth and timely completion.
Community members who witnessed the inspection commended the Assembly for its efforts to address their long-standing transportation challenges. They expressed optimism that the completion of the Omanadwaye–Mim Junction road would significantly reduce travel difficulties, especially during the rainy season, and improve the movement of goods and services.
The Omanadwaye–Mim Junction road project, when completed, is expected to enhance connectivity within the Amansie West District and contribute meaningfully to the socio-economic development of the area.
