Mr Richard Addo Gyamfi, the Regional Director of the Ghana TVET Service, highlighted the importance of precision, quality and innovation in preparing young people for a competitive labour market.
He said, “If we are to drive productivity efficiently in the job market, our training should look at these qualities,” and called for more youth to show keen interest in TVET to enhance their chances for employment.
Madam Bernice Gavor, the General Manager of Accents and Art, drew attention to the realities of youth unemployment in Kumasi, noting that many young people lacked access to structured training, mentorship, and start-up support.
She pointed out that Kumasi’s industrial potential remained under-utilised, with many young people migrating to Accra despite the Region’s strong economic base.️
Mr Felix Owusu, a beneficiary who spoke on behalf of the graduates, said the programme had reshaped his understanding of workplace expectations, adding that precision quality had not just prepared him for the industry but shaped his understanding of the business world.
