Africa-Press – Ghana. The National Democratic Congress (NDC) government is implementing various interventions to provide reliable employment opportunities for the youth.
Alhaji Salisu Musah, Ashanti Regional Vice Chairperson of the NDC, stated that through flagship programmes, the government aims to reduce poverty, alleviate hardships, and restore hope among young people.
Addressing NDC polling station youth organisers in Nkawie, Atwima Nwabiagya South Constituency, he urged them to remain calm and loyal, highlighting that their efforts led the party to victory in the 2024 elections.
He noted that the government has laid a solid foundation for accelerated economic growth, which would create opportunities for all party members, and encouraged youth to ignore teasing or mockery from opposition supporters, assuring them that their work would benefit them.
Mr. Wisdom Osei Boamah, the Municipal Chief Executive, commended the youth for increasing the party’s votes across 197 polling stations, noting his own improved performance as the 2024 Parliamentary Candidate, securing over 27 per cent of total valid votes, up from below 25 per cent since 1992.
He credited the youth and polling station executives for the party’s general performance and emphasised that maintaining them in leadership positions during internal elections would be expected.
Mr Boamah called for continued commitment from the youth, describing them as future leaders and valuable assets to the party, municipality, and country.
Mr Maxwell Acheampong, the constituency youth organiser, thanked participants and the youth wing for their cooperation and restraint as the government and party leadership worked to address their concerns.
