Africa-Press – Ghana. Mr. Seth Osei Akoto, Member of Parliament (MP) for Atwima Mponua in the Ashanti region has cut the sod to construct two police stations in the area.
This is to enhance security, community safety, and law enforcement at Kotokuom and Bayerebon No. five communities and their environs in the constituency.
Mr Akoto, speaking at the ceremony at Kotokuom, stressed the need for improved security infrastructure since safety was the foundation for sustainable development.
“A secure environment is essential for growth, investment and peace of mind”, he stated.
The projects, which are being implemented from his share of the MPs Common fund, are expected to be completed within the next eight months.
Mr Akoto mentioned more visible law enforcement presence, faster emergency response times, improved collaboration between security agencies and rural communities, and increased local employment, as some of the benefits of the project to the people.
He emphasized that promises backed by action could lead to tangible improvements in the lives of people and results-oriented approach to leadership.
This, he said, was part of his reason to initiate the project for a meaningful step toward a safer and more secured future and environment in the area.
The MP appealed to the contactors of the project to engage unemployed youth in the towns to help support and improve their livelihoods.
Nana Kofi Agyemang I, Kotokuom Odikro commended the MP for fulfilling his campaign promise to provide the project.
He noted that the project would guarantee a safer and resilient environment for the people to live and work peacefully.
