Africa-Press – Ghana. The Hohoe United Football Club has sympathised with the Berekum Chelsea Football Club following a tragedy leading to the death of a player.
“We extend our deepest and heartfelt condolences to Berekum Chelsea following the unfortunate incident that led to the untimely passing of your player”.
Discover moreSoccerSportsThe Club’s Management in a release issued and copied to the Ghana News Agency, described the incident as a painful and heartbreaking loss, not only for the Berekum Chelsea Club but for the entire football fraternity in Ghana.
“Losing a player in such tragic circumstances is devastating, and our thoughts and prayers are with the family, teammates, officials, and supporters during this difficult time”.
Dominic Frimpong reportedly lost his life following an armed robbery attack on the team while the club was returning from a Ghana Premier League fixture.
In a release by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Communications, the Association, said it had received with profound shock and deep sorrow the tragic news of the passing of the football player.
It said the incident had sent shockwaves across the entire football fraternity.
“The GFA extends its heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased, his teammates, technical staff, management, and all at Berekum Chelsea during this extremely difficult time”.
The Association said the incident was not only a huge loss to Berekum Chelsea but also to Ghana football as a whole adding that, Dominic was a promising young talent whose dedication and passion for the game embodied the spirit of League.
