Africa-Press – Ghana. Mr Effah-Boachie, the Nkoranza North Constituency Secretary of the largest opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) has lauded the government for reshaping some roads in the constituency.

Hitherto, he said the bad condition of roads remained as a major challenge of the people, saying that it was unfortunate the improved roads was not the priority of the previous administration and failed to reshape those roads, despite persistent appeals by the community members.

However, he asked the government to better the socio-economic livelihoods of the rural dwellers, saying that: “We don’t eat roads and a road does not put money in our pockets”.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) Nkoranza in the Bono East Region, Mr Effah-Boahie questioned that: “When we get the better roads and farmers bring their farm produce and can’t get them sold, then what is the essence”?

He called on the government to prioritize and tackle the needs of cocoa and other farmers by creating opportunities for them to sell their produce and enhance their livelihoods.

“Farmers are going through a lot of economic hardship and thereby making farming no more attractive to the people”, he stated, urging the government to stop the “lip service”, and transform the agriculture sector which employed most of the people in the area.

On the impending NPP’s internal elections, Mr Effah-Boachie nominations for the polling station executive elections opened from Monday, April 20, and April 24, 2026, describing the impending elections as a key step in the party’s internal reorganization for Election 2028.
