The ministerial session of the second joint permanent committee for cooperation between the Republic of Ghana and Morocco was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, co-chaired by the Foreign Minister of Ghana, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates.
The ministerial session followed a meeting of technical experts that took place in Rabat from June 9 to 11, 2026. At the conclusion of the session, both parties signed the following eleven bilateral instruments:
– Air Services Agreement.
– Agreement on Mutual Administrative Assistance in Customs Matters.
– Memorandum of Understanding in the fields of standardization, conformity assessment, and metrology activities.
– Memorandum of Understanding on Higher Education and Scientific and Technological Cooperation.
– Memorandum of Understanding on Enhancing Cooperative Activities in Meteorology and Climate Science.
– Memorandum of Understanding for Scientific and Technical Cooperation between the National Office of Hydrocarbons and Mines and the Ghana Geological Survey Authority.
– Memorandum of Understanding on Diplomatic Training.
– Agreement on Cooperation in Vocational Training.
– Agreement on Cooperation in Academic Scholarships, Internships, and Exchange of Experiences.
– Memorandum of Understanding in the Field of Sports.
– Memorandum of Understanding in the Field of Archives.
According to a report distributed by a local source on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ghana, the two ministers reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring the effective implementation of the decisions and agreements reached during the second conference of the joint coordination committee, expressing confidence that the renewed partnership will strengthen Ghanaian-Moroccan relations and contribute effectively to African integration and collective self-sufficiency.
