Africa-Press – Ghana. Genoa striker Caleb Ekuban turned down an offer from Turkish side Konyaspor during the just-ended January transfer window.
The top-flight wanted to sign Ekuban whose Serie A adventure has so far been frustrating as he struggles to score for the relegation-threatened Genoa.
However, the Trabzonspor attacker made clear that he is not interested in returning to Turkey after less than a year away.
The Ghanaian parted ways with Trabzonspor and joined Genoa in August 2021 on a three-year deal reportedly worth nearly €2m.
However, things are not going according to plan for Ekuban in Italy. He has scored just one goal in 22 games however, none has come in the league where Genoa are second from the bottom.
His poor form cost him a place in Ghana’s squad for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Cameroon.
