Africa-Press – Ghana. Beijing, Feb 16, (dpa/GNA) – South Korean Choi Min Jeong, grabbed a second successive Olympic gold in the women’s 1,500 metres short track race. The 2018 champion and world record holder, set an Olympic record in the semi-final and then held her nerve in the final by making an early dash for the line.
Her gold followed silvers in the 1,000m and 3,000m in Beijing at the Capital Indoor Stadium. A photo finish for silver went the way of Italy’s Arianna Fontana, who took an 11th career Olympic medal, while Dutch skater Suzanne Schulting had to settle for bronze having already won two golds, a silver and another bronze in Beijing.
