Ghanaian winger Gilbert Koomson excels as Bodo/Glimt beat Celtic in UEFA Europa Conference League

Africa-Press – Ghana. Ghanaian winger Gilbert Koomson climbed off the bench to help Norwegian giants Bodo/Glimt beat Celtic in the first leg of their Europa Conference League at the Celtic Park.

Koomson replaced forward Amahl Pellegrino in the 69th minutes as the visitors defeated their hosts 3-1 to head into the second leg with a comfortable advantage.

Bodo/Glimt had a good start and needed only six minutes to break the deadlock after Runar Espejord profited from an assist from Hugo Vetlesen.

Amahl Pellegrino doubled the lead in the 55th minute before Celtic pulled one back through Daizen Maeda.

The hosts tried to push for a leveler but Bodo/Glimt took advantage poor defending by the hosts to restore their two-goal lead after Hugo Vetlesen netted with nine minutes remaining.

Koomson has made three appearances in the UEFA Europa Conference League, having joined the club last summer. He also made 6 appearances in the Eliteserien before the season came to an end.
