Africa-Press – Ghana. Sebastien Kehl, Head of Licensing at Borussia Dortmund, says Otto Addo’s work at the club will not be affected when he assumes the position as interim coach of the Black Stars for the World Cup play-offs next month, Ghanasoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

The 46-year-old has been appointed as the interim manager for the Black Stars ahead of the World Cup playoff against Nigeria next month.

The Dortmund talent coach was appointed together with Mas-Ud Didi Dramani, Aston Villa U-23 coach George Boateng and former Brighton boss Chris Hughton who will serve in the capacity as technical advisor for the technical team.

According to Kehl, Dortmund compiled to the request made by the Ghana Football Association to have Otto Addo for the two games in the World Cup playoffs next month.

He explained that the club did not want to deny Otto Addo this opportunity to serve his country.

“The Ghanaian association approached us with a request to release Otto Addo for the two games of this international period.”

He also added added: “Being the national coach of your home country is always something special and a great honour. So of course we complied with this request. Otto’s work at BVB does not affect his commitment during the international match period in any way.”

Ghana face off with Nigeria in the World Cup playoff on March 25 at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium before traveling to Abuja for the second leg on March 29, 2022.
