Ghana legend Sulley Muntari plays peace-maker role to stop chaotic scene before Hearts-Legon Cities game

Africa-Press – Ghana. Former Black Stars midfielder Sulley Muntari played an influential role both on and off the pitch in the game between Hearts of Oak and Legon Cities on Saturday.

Before the game started, there was a little bit of confrontation between some players and technical team members of both sides.

Players of Legon Cities rushed to prevent a Hearts of Oak player from encroaching their side of the pitch during the warm up over claims of superstitious behaviour.

The player in an attempt to ignore them led to a brawl and Sulley Muntari had to quickly move to the Police for them to handle the situation.

His gesture was applauded by the fans who were at the El-Wak stadium to watch the game.

Sulley Muntari was instrumental in the game, providing the assist for Hearts of Oak’s opener which was scored by Isaac Mensah.

However, a late Osman Amadu equalizer saw the two sides share the spoils at a dreaded El-Wak pitch.
