
Africa-Press – Ghana. Ghana coach Otto Addo has told invited Black Stars why they must be committed to the national team and sacrifice for the West African giants ahead of their crucial 2022 World Cup playoff against Nigeria this month.
The Dortmund assistant coach has spoken to the players directly, telling them the importance of sacrificing for the nation.
Addo wants to instill high sense of patriotism ahead of the showdown against Ghana’s eternal rivals Nigeria.
He wants the players to eschew moneycracy and imbibe the spirit of genuine nationalism in ensuring the four-time African champions secure qualification to the World Cup in Qatar later this year.
The first leg comes off on March 25, 2022, at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium.
The Black Stars travel to Abuja for the second leg on March 29, 2022, to be played at the M.K.O Abiola National Stadium.
Otto Addo, currently at his base with Dortmund has been analyzing his opponent and also preparing his squad for the crucial encounter.
According to sources, most of the players to have played in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations tournament will make the Black Stars squad for the world cup play0ffs.
Ghana will be without captain Andre Dede Ayew and Yeni Malatyaspor striker Benjamin Tetteh due to suspension.
