Africa-Press – Ghana. Ghana midfielder Daniel-Kofi Kyere is in the form of his life ahead of his country’s 2022 decisive World Cup playoff against Nigeria this month.
The 26-year-old has been in an excellent form for St Pauli since he returned from the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
The highly-rated midfielder has been the mainstay of the St Pauli side as they push for promotion to the German Bundesliga.
The Ghana international scored a stupendous freekick to propel his side to a resounding 3-1 win over FC Ingolstadt at the weekend.
Kofi Kyere has been in some exhilarating form since returning from international duty with Ghana, scoring his seventh goal of the campaign.
He scored a brace for St Pauli in their 3-1 win over Karlsruher in German Bundesliga on Saturday to end an impressive week having scored a superb free-kick against Bundesliga side Union Berlin in their 2-1 loss in the DFB-Pokal last week.
Before that, he netted a superb free-kick, which means Kyereh has scored in three successive games making him Ghana’s most in-form player ahead of the tie.
Kyereh, who is also effective in midfield, has been a key member of the Black Stars since his debut in the 1-0 win over Ethiopia in a 2022 World Cup qualifying group stage.
Kyereh has gone on to make eight appearances for the country, with three coming earlier this year in Cameroon as he was included in the squad for the Africa Cup of Nations.
Although he is yet to record a goal or assist, he will be heading into the tie full of confidence having been in good form for St Pauli.
