Africa-Press – Ghana. Kayserispor midfielder Bernard Mensah says he is hoping to be fit in time to help the club in the course of the season. The 27-year-old missed the most part of last season due to injury. He made only six appearances and scored two goals for Kayserispor as a result of the injury.

The Ghana international returned from injury to play his first game against Besiktas which the team lost by a lone goal in the opening game of the 2022/23 season. He made a brief appearance in that defeat.

Mensah enjoyed 24 minutes in his second game for Kayserispor against Istanbulspor AS which they won by a lone goal. Despite marking two appearances for the club, the former Atletico Madrid midfielder says he is still recovering after the long injury lay-off.

“You know, there was an 8-month process regarding my health and this process needs to be completed. I can’t fully play until this process is complete. You will see me on the field when the time comes.” Kayserispor play their next game against Basaksehir in the Turkish Super League

“It will be a difficult competition. Our opponent is Başakşehir, but you can see how we played together with Çağdaş teacher. Of course, it will be a difficult competition, but we will do our best”, Mensah said ahead of the game
