Ghana forward Afena-Gyan arrives in Cremona to complete Cremonese move

Africa-Press – Ghana. Black Stars forward Felix Afena-Gyan has arrived in the city of Cremona to finalize his move to Serie A newcomers US Cremonese. The 19-year-old touched down on Friday night and will be having his medical on Saturday before putting pen to paper on a long-term deal.

Felix Afena-Gyan is joining Cremonese in a deal reportedly worth 10 million Euros plus add-ons. The Ghana international leaves AS Roma after enjoying a breakthrough campaign under Portuguese manager Jose Mourinho, where he made 17 appearances and scored two goals.

Felix Afena-Gyan was part of the team that won the inaugural UEFA Europa Conference League last season. However, chances of regular play time were limited at the Rome-based club, hence the decision to make a move in the summer transfer window.

The highly-talented goal poacher is guaranteed game time at Cremonese, which is expected to keep him sharp before the World Cup in Qatar in November. “Midnight dinner and final discussion in the in the fashion city,” wrote his agent with a photo of the player on Twitter. Afena-Gyan arrived in Italy in January 2021 and has seen a meteoric rise to his career.
