Africa-Press – Ghana. Black Stars forward Antoine Semenyo has reacted to his comeback for Bristol City in the EFL Cup victory over Wycombe. The 22-year-old made his first appearance for the Robins this season after coming off the bench to score in the 3-1 victory on Wednesday night.
Semenyo, who scored 9 goals and provided 12 assists last season, picked up an injury while on international duty with the Black Stars of Ghana in June.
His return is huge boost for manager Nigel Pearson and Ghana ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup. “Next round of EFL Cup. Good to be back playing and on the scoresheet,” he posted on Instagram after the game on Wednesday.
Antoine Semenyo remains on the radar of several clubs including Crystal Palace. Recently, Watford and Middlesborough have shown interest in the lanky forward. The English-born Ghana is expected to return to the Black Stars squad for the friendlies against Brazil and Nicaragua in September.
