Africa-Press – Ghana. German outfit Mainz 05 have terminated the contract of Ghanaian forward Issah Abass by mutual consent, the club has announced.
Abass, 23, is deemed surplus to requirement and has been released by the Bundesliga outfit.
The Ghanaian has a year remaining on his current contract.
In an official club statement, Mainz O5 have confirmed the termination of the contract, explaining that the decision was taken with both parties having an understanding.
“Issah Abass and #Mainz05 have mutually agreed to part ways. Abass’ contract, which was set to run until 30th June 2023, has been terminated.
“We wish you all the best for the future, Issah.” the German club has said.
Abass was on a season long loan last season at Rijeka, where he made 26 appearances and scored three goals and three assists.
