Africa-Press – Ghana. After scoring a brace over the weekend, Mohammed Kudus has been named to the Dutch Eredivisie team of the week. The Ghana midfielder was outstanding, scoring twice as Ajax defeated Heerenveen 5-0 on Saturday to keep their unbeaten start to the season intact.

The 22-year-old was named man of the match for the second time this season. The team off the week is dominated by Ajax players. Daley Blind and Kenneth Taylor played excellent against Heerenveen but also Davy Klaassen, Dusan Tadic and Mohammed Kudus were good and all three received a 7.5 for their performance.

As a result, there are now no fewer than four Ajax players in the top ten of the general classification, which, in addition to Taylor, also includes Devyne Rensch and the summer acquisitions Steven Bergwijn and Calvin Bassey.

Kudus has now scored four goals so far this season and is expected to start on Wednesday against Liverpool in the Champions League. The Ghana international, impressive during pre-season with four goals, was left frustrated last month after being benched by Ajax manager Alfred Schreuder.

He agreed personal terms with Everton, who wanted to sign him permanently, but Ajax blocked the move. Kudus has since played more minutes and proven that he deserves to start.
