Honourable Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu, the Majority Leader in Parliament, has backed the Black Stars to victory against Portugal and Uruguay.
Ghana have been drawn in Group H against 2016 European champions Portugal, Asian giants South Korea and inaugural World Cup winners Uruguay.The Black Stars head to the tournament as the lowest ranked nation but Mensah-Bonsu remains hopeful of the team’s chances.
“The players we have now are budding stars. Players that must have efficient stamina to stand the play of Ronaldo and I am very hopeful if we gel together we should be able to conquer Portugal and Uruguay,” he said on the floor of Parliament as quoted by Pulse.
Ghana coach Otto Addo has named a 55-man provisional squad and will announce his final team for the tournament on November 15.
The Black Stars will begin the tournament with a clash against Portugal before facing South Korea and Uruguay respectively.
