Assistant coach of Ghana Premier League side Dreams FC, Edwin Torto has predicted a one touch victory for the club’s executive chairman Mr. Kurt Okraku in the upcoming Ghana Football Association Presidential election.
The ambitious football administrator will have to beat former GFA vice presidents George Afriyie and Fred Pappoe as well as Nana Yaw Amponsah, Amanda Clinton and George Ankoma Mensah in Friday’s election for the FA top job.
But despite the Stern nature of the task ahead for Mr. Okraku, His club’s assistant coach is confident that his boss will defy all odds to emerge winner of the highly anticipated elections.
Speaking in an interview with Koforidua based Bryt FM, coach Edwin Torto predicted a massive victory for Kurt Okraku as he believes he is the right man to lead Ghana Football.
According to him, the MTN FA Cup under Kurt Okraku received massive improvement and is hopeful when given the chance to lead the football governing body in the country, he can transform the game.
“Campaign is going on well smoothly. We’ve got positive responds from delegates”, Torto said.
Reacting to a comment from rival candidate George Afriyie that Kurt Okraku is young to lead the FA, the Dreams FC assistant trainer said, “I was a bit surprise with that statement. He is a man we all respect having being the vice president of the Ghana FA, he knows Kurt have been in the industry for so long. Doubting the capabilities is null and void”.
The Young tactician further noted that the Dreams FC executive chairman posses threat to George Afriyie and that is why he will come out with such an unfortunate comment.
When asked if Mr. Okraku will be sworn in as the next FA president, he said, “For sure because the signs are clear. Kurt is winning the elections one touch. Amongst all the candidate Kurt Okraku is the best in terms of communication”
