Africa-Press – Ghana. The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has urged ministers who were affected by the reshuffle announced by President Akufo-Addo on February 14 to continue supporting the government.

Justin Kodua Frimpong said their support is needed in the government’s quest to develop the country.

“The NPP continues to express profound appreciation for the dedication and service of those departing from their roles, urging them to continue supporting the government and the party in our collective pursuit of national development,” Mr Kodua stated in a press release dated February 14.

Nine ministers of state lost their jobs in the shake-up that took immediate effect on Valentine’s Day.

The names of the Ministers who were not reassigned are as follows:

Commenting on the reshuffle, Mr Kodua Frimpong said the NPP is happy about the changes made by President Akufo-Addo.

“The leadership is pleased to express gratitude and appreciation to the President for his decisive government reshuffle, which includes the appointment of new Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs), Ministers, and Deputy Ministers.”

He urged the newly appointed members of government to bring on their A-game.

“To the incoming appointees, we extend our congratulation message and warmest wishes. As they assume new responsibilities, we urge them to bring forth innovative ideas and unwavering dedication to serve the good people of Ghana.

Their contributions would be instrumental in propelling our party and government to a historic victory in the upcoming 2024 general elections,” the release noted.

It would be recalled that earlier in the day, President Nana Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo relieved Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta of his portfolio in government with immediate effect.

The other ministers who have also been reshuffled include; Information Minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, Works and Housing Minister Francis Asenso Boakye, Kwaku Agyemang Manu, Health, Kwasi Amoako Attah, Roads and Highways, Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation Hon. Dr. Kwaku Afriyie, Gender, Children and Social Protection Hon. Lariba Abudu, Local Government, Decentralisation and Rural Development Hon. Dan Botwe, Sanitation and Water Resources Hon. Freda Prempeh, Tourism, Arts and Culture Ibrahim Mohammed Awal, Greater Accra Region Hon. Henry Quartey, Oti Region Mr. Joseph Makubu.

This was announced by the Director of Communications at the Presidency Eugene Arhin on Wednesday, February 14.
