Africa-Press – Ghana. Ghana defender AbdulBaba Rahman concluded the 2023/24 season on a triumphant note, helping his team clinch the Greek Super League title with PAOK Thessaloniki.
The 29-year-old played a pivotal role throughout the season, finishing as the defender with the most goal contributions in the league. His performance was instrumental as PAOK edged out giants Olympiakos and Panathinaikos to secure the championship.
In the decisive match, Rahman started and played the full duration as PAOK travelled to beat ARIS on Sunday.
Brandon opened the scoring for the visitors at the half-hour mark, but ARIS equalized two minutes after the break through Moron Garcia. Taison then secured the winner on the hour mark, crowning PAOK as champions.
Rahman ended the campaign with an impressive tally of five goals and three assists. His contributions were vital to PAOK’s success this season.
After his stint in England with Chelsea, where he spent several years on loan to various clubs including PAOK, Rahman returned to Greece and made a significant impact.
Meanwhile, reports in England suggest that the experienced left-back could return to the Premier League, with Brentford showing interest in his services.
Rahman may also return to the Black Stars after taking time off to focus on full recovery and regain top form.
Rahman opted out of the team in for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Ivory Coasy earlier this year.
The former QPR defender may be seen as a crucial addition to the national team as they prepare to face Mali and the Central African Republic in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers next month.
