Africa-Press – Ghana. Mr. Abubakar Sadik, Ahafo Ano South-West District Chief Executive (DCE), has described rural development as a collective responsibility that requires the efforts of all stakeholders.

He said every individual had an important role to play in order to help achieve the needed results with available resources for the benefit of all.

Mr. Sadik made the remarks in his inaugural speech after obtaining 100 per cent endorsement from 41 Assembly Members who approved his nomination by the President as district Chief Executive (DCE).

He said stakeholders such as Assembly Members, chiefs, religious leaders, party supporters and the community members would have roles to play in the economic planning, supervision and execution of action plans of the Assembly for the development of the district.

He emphasized that the government’s determination to deliver its manifesto and campaign promises for improved livelihoods required unity and cooperation at the local level to enhance their successes.

The newly endorsed DCE said he was committed to spearheading the provision of quality communication network, infrastructure, roads and other amenities to improve the living standards of the people.

Mr. Osman Nabali, the Ashanti Regional Youth Organizer of the NDC, who represented the Regional Minister, commended the Assembly Members for endorsing the nominee, saying that it was the way to go accelerate the development of the district.

Mr. Elvis Osei Mensah Dapaah, the Member of Parliament (MP), pledged his readiness to cooperate with the DCE and other stakeholders in prosecuting the development agenda of the Assembly.
