Krachi East Assembly Engages Community on SOCO Projects

Africa-Press – Ghana. The Krachi East Municipal Assembly has hosted a stakeholder engagement with Community Interest Groups (CIGs) to discuss ongoing Gulf of Guinea Northern Regions Social Cohesion Project (SOCO), a World Bank-Funded initiative in Ghana.

The Community Interest Groups were Sankofa Traders Association, Dambai Junction Hairdressers and Beauticians Association, Dambai Lakeside Hairdressers and Beauticians Association, Dambai Vegetable Farmers Association, Dambai New Junction Maize Producers Association.

The rest were Dambai Old Town Groundnut Farmers Association, Ghana Cooperative Fashion Designers Association Tefelekudzi, Ghana Cooperative Fashion Designers Association, Dambai Zongo Rice Farmers Association, Dambai Zongo Yam Sellers Association, Ghana National Tailors and Dressmakers Association and Ghana National and Dressmakers Association.

The meeting aimed to foster collaboration, address concerns, and ensure the projects’ success in the area.

The engagement provided a platform for community members to share their insights, expectations, and concerns regarding the SOCO projects.

Participants actively contributed to the discussion, highlighting the importance of community involvement in project implementation.

The Krachi East Municipal Assembly, under the leadership of Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Mr. Safo Nketia, reaffirmed their commitment to working with community interest groups to ensure the successful implementation of SOCO projects.

The MCE emphasized the need for continued collaboration to address challenges and maximize benefits for the community.

Mr. Nketia stated that, by working together the stakeholders can harness the potential of SOCO projects to drive growth and improve livelihoods in the municipality.

The engagement demonstrated the assembly’s dedication to empowering local communities and promoting sustainable development in the Krachi East Municipality.
