Africa-Press – Ghana. Ghana forward Kwabena Owusu climbed off the bench to help Qarabag progress to the next stage of the UEFA Champions League qualifiers. The 25-year-old replaced Ibrahima Wadji in the 82nd minute as the Azerbaijani giants stunned Frencvaros 3-1 in Hungary.
Qarabag travelled to Hungary after a 1-1 draw in the first leg, but it took only seven minutes for them to break the deadlock after Abdellah Zoubir found the back of the net.
Ibrahima Wadji, who Owusu replaced in the second half, added a brace to extend Qarabag’s lead. The hosts got a consolation late in the game through Adama Traore. Qarabag will now face Czech outfit Viktoria Plzen as the quest for a group stage place in the UEFA Champions League continues.
