Prophet Akaboha, made the call at a thanksgiving service to mark the celebration of 100 years of ‘Asomdwee Afe’ Peace Festival at Gomoa Mosanu, the headquarters of the Church.
He said the church of God must continue to intensity and pursue integrity and purity of heart to help reap untold testimonies, even amid all the raging chaos and uncertainties in the world.
The ceremony started with a review and procession by the entire numbers from the Holy Place to the Jubilee Temple and Onyawonsu, a sacred place of the church.
The 2025 Asomdwee Afe marked 100 years since the inception of the Church in 1925, and it was marked with activities including prayers for the peace of the country, devotions, anniversary potluck, exhortations, intercessory prayer and a float within the Musanu township.
There was also a candlelight procession, anniversary vigil, Akaboha II memorial service and a book launch.
Held on the theme: “Blessed are the pure in Heart,” (Matthew 5-8), all the sermons and exhortations during the period were based on the verse.
Prophet Akaboha, stated that the Asomdwee Afe was given through a revelation by the Holy Spirit at a naming ceremony of Prophet Mathapoly, when he was one week old on Sunday, August 31,1924.
Members of the Musama Church had therefore annually celebrated his coming into the World, hence the first Asomdwee Afe (Peace year), was celebrated in August 1925, when he was a year old.
He stated that the celebration last year was dedicated to the memory of their rare-born former leader, Prophet Mathapoly Moses Jehu-Appiah, saying it marked the 100-year anniversary of his birth in fulfment of the prophecy.
“Christ our Good Shepherd has taken us through, yet another year filled with his power and presence and as we have gathered here, as we do annually, let us praise His Holy name and give thanks to Him for how far he has brought us.
“For our purpose here on earth is to bear fruit and it is important that we approach this task by praising and thanking God with hearts He approves and rewards.”
“May that sign of God’s rich love for Musama fill us with love towards each other, towards the church and our beloved nation,” Prophet Akaboha added.
In an interview with the Ghana News Agency, Pastor Kwesi Begyina, the General Secretary of the Church said, peace was essential in the life of every human being, and that there was the need as a people, particularly the youth to embrace peace, and stop indulging in activities which could disturb and destroy the peace of the country.
“We have only one Ghana with the youth as our future, hence it is important to instill in them the sense of love, peace, discipline and patriotism.”
He encouraged all Ghanaians to continue praying for peace and national cohesion and the Lord God Almighty who based on His promise would rescue His people.
