{"id":100205,"date":"2025-05-22T17:59:52","date_gmt":"2025-05-22T17:59:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/ghana\/uncategorized\/galaxy-international-school-others-exhibit-innovative-steam-projects-in-competition"},"modified":"2025-05-22T18:10:05","modified_gmt":"2025-05-22T18:10:05","slug":"galaxy-international-school-others-exhibit-innovative-steam-projects-in-competition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/ghana\/all-news\/galaxy-international-school-others-exhibit-innovative-steam-projects-in-competition","title":{"rendered":"Galaxy International School, Others Exhibit Innovative STEAM Projects in Competition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Ghana. <\/strong><\/span><b>Students of the Galaxy International School through hard work and creativity, have exhibited remarkable projects in the school\u2019s 20th edition of its annual Science and Makers Fair, to promote a digitised and problem-solving solutions.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The fair on the theme, \u201cEmpowering STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics), saw the students showcase over 30 innovative STEAM projects as they compete with students from other schools.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibition saw a display of interactive science projects, cutting-edge robotics, eco-friendly innovations, and hands-on engineering marvels, proving that the future was in capable hands.<\/p>\n<p>They included beaded ornaments, green technology buildings, movable aircrafts, electronic fountains, play stations, well-designed estates, musical instruments, and robots.<\/p>\n<p>After a thorough review of their projects, the Presbyterian Boys Senior High School emerged the winner, and Galaxy International School placed second with its student Razan Mamdouh Hamoui), and third respectively with Mohammed Abdus-Samad Abdulbaqi.<\/p>\n<p>Dr Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, the Minister of Environment, Science, and Technology in a speech read on his behalf, called on citizens to reaffirm their commitment to empower the youth by investing in STEAM education, to nurture innovation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTogether, let us build a Ghana where innovation thrives, where young people lead, and where STEAM powers a future that is green, inclusive and prosperous for all,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n<p>Dr Muhammed commended the Galaxy International School for its commitment to excellence in STEAM education, adding, \u201cYou are helping to build the Ghana we envision,\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mr Issifu Seidu, the Minister of State in-charge of Climate Change and Sustainability in a speech read on his behalf, said plans were in place for the establishment of a Climate and Sustainability Hub.<\/p>\n<p>The hub, he said would be a one-stop centre dedicated to accelerating climate action in Ghana and the West African sub-region.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt will serve as an incubator for groundbreaking ideas, facilitate knowledge sharing, and create pathways to attract substantial climate finance into our country,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n<p>By fostering collaboration among academia, industry, policymakers, and financiers, The Minister said the hub would strengthen the country\u2019s capacity to implement impactful climate initiatives and position Ghana as a leader in climate resilience and sustainable development.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo this end, the future and role of STEAM cannot be overemphasized. I am committed to ensuring that educational initiatives such as today\u2019s \u201cScience and Makers\u2019 Fair\u201d receive the necessary attention, recognition, and scale-up into a National Science and Sustainability Fair to guarantee more innovation, creativity, and support for our emerging talents,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n<p>Dr Muhammed said nations that invested in STEAM were leading in economic growth, job creation, and technological advancement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhether it is renewable energy, artificial intelligence, biotechnology, digital finance, or creative industries, the integration of STEAM unlocks new possibilities. For Ghana, this means developing homegrown solutions to issues like clean energy, agricultural productivity, climate resilience, and sustainable urban development,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The Minister said it meant reducing dependence on imports by nurturing local innovators and entrepreneurs who could design for Ghana\u2019s own context, solutions \u2018by Ghanaians, for Ghanaians\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Jasur Domullojonov, the Principal, Galaxy International School, in a welcoming address said, the school for 20 years had seen generations of thinkers, creators, and problem-solvers emerge.<\/p>\n<p>He expressed gratitude to the teachers and parents who guided and supported the students through their journey of studies, saying, \u201cYour encouragement and dedication have been instrumental in nurturing the innovative spirit that reflects in today\u2019s projects.<\/p>\n<p>He encouraged the students to continue with their commitment to exploring new territories, adding: \u201cRemember, every experiment, whether successful or challenging, is a step toward greater understanding and achievement.
