Africa-Press – Ghana. <\/strong><\/span>The Green Keepers at Arkley Golf Club in London have donated 1,500 pieces of practice balls to Captain One Golf Society, a non-profit charity organisation based in Ghana to support the organisation\u2019s development of golf in Ghana.<\/b><\/p>\n

Captain One Golf Society through its Captain One Kids\u2019 project is developing and promoting golf among the underprivileged and vulnerable youth in the country.<\/p>\n

The project partners existing golf clubs in Ghana to train kids from care homes and on the streets golf while nurturing them to develop the interest.<\/p>\n

Presenting the balls, Max Perry, a representative of the Green Keepers at Arkley Golf Club said they were motivated to make the donation after hearing about the success story of Captain One Golf Society\u2019s kids\u2019 project currently running at all major golf courses in Ghana.<\/p>\n

He said they were of the view that as golfers, they get excited when the underprivileged in society were given hope and an opportunity to showcase their talents therefore it was worthy to support such a programme running in Ghana.<\/p>\n

Mr Pius Ayeh Appiah, President and Founder of the Captain One Golf Society, thanked the Green Keepers for the support and assured that the balls would be used for its intended purpose.<\/p>\n

He said the Society had a kids golf development programme across the various golf clubs in Ghana therefore the balls would be distributed to them to help the trainers to get enough balls to train the kids.<\/p>\n

He said as a fully registered non-profit organisation under the Social Welfare, the society was aimed at working towards making golf a sport for all especially among the vulnerable and underprivileged in society.<\/p>\n

He called on other stakeholders to partner with them to give an alternative means of livelihood for the young ones.<\/p>\n
