\nAbakah was 19 years of age when she went missing at Diabene, a suburb of
\nTakoradi, about a year ago without any trace.<\/p>\n
\nkidnappers got in touch later and the family paid GH\u00a2300 ransom money but the
\nmiscreants never released the poor girl.<\/p>\n
\ncompleted Diabene Senior High School where she read General Arts in 2018.<\/p>\n
\nwas also a Sunday school teacher at Diabene Methodist Church and was last seen
\non Sunday, July 29, 2018.<\/p>\n
\nfamily members of the girl are now claiming that the fourth set of human
\nremains discovered at Nkroful New Site in Takoradi by the police last week could
\nbe that of their missing girl and want DNA tests for confirmation.<\/p>\n
\nfourth remains were discovered as part of police investigations into the three Takoradi
\nkidnapping cases that have rocked the country in the past months.<\/p>\n
\nthe whereabouts of the three girls are unknown as the two Nigerian suspects \u2013
\nSamuel Udoetuk Wills, 28, and John Oji, 29 \u2013 have given the security agencies a
\ntough time in disclosing where they are keeping the girls.<\/p>\n
\nfourth human remains were located in a well in an uncompleted building where
\nthe main suspect, Samuel Udoetuk Wills, was re-arrested after escaping from
\npolice custody in December 2018.<\/p>\n
\ncertain Evangelist Veronica Cobbinah, who claimed to be the grandmother of Ruth
\nAbakah, has narrated how the young lady went missing, claiming that it happened
\non 29thJuly 2018 when Ruth Abakah went to Diabene Methodist Church and
\nnever returned home.<\/p>\n
\nclaimed that when she got back from church her grandchild was not at home and
\nwas only told by her friends that she received a phone call and left the Sunday
\nschool service.<\/p>\n
\nclaimed that the police in the area assisted the family in the payment of the ransom
\nto the kidnappers but the girl never came back.<\/p>\n
\nCobbinah added that various announcements to trace the girl were unsuccessful
\nand reported the case to the Kojokrom police and the Sekondi police but to no
\navail.<\/p>\n
\nelder sister of the missing girl, Matilda, also corroborated the story and said
\nthe family made some payments to the suspected kidnappers who talked to her to
\nget her sister released but to no avail.<\/p>\n
\none who spoke to me said they had used my sister\u2019s name to register for MTN
\nMobile money so we should make the payment through that number which we did.<\/p>\n
\nthe time, I was working with MTN so I gave the number to my boss and we
\nrealised that they used my sister\u2019s National Health Insurance card for the
\nregistration. So that was how we were convinced that she was in their custody.
\nWe have so far paid GH\u00a2300 to them,\u201d she recounted.<\/p>\n
\nwant the police to be quick about their DNA tests so that we can be comfortable
\nwith our lives. Right now, we are downhearted,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n
\nis a third suspect who is said to have been picked up by the police in Nigeria
\nin connection with the case and already, there are frantic efforts by the
\nCriminal Investigation Department (CID) to get him extradited to face justice
\nin Ghana.<\/p>\n
\nCID is said to have deployed three of its leading investigators to Nigeria to
\nsee to the extradition process of Chika John Nnodim who was grabbed on 5th
\nAugust 2019<\/p>\n
\ninvestigators, who are said to be personnel from the Anti-Armed Robbery Unit,
\naccording to a police source, are to follow the legal processes to expedite the
\nextradition process.<\/p>\n
\nChika John, according to the police source, is also under investigation for
\nanother offence he had committed in his country.<\/p>\n
\nsuspect, according to the CID, was arrested by a joint team of police personnel
\nfrom Ghana and Nigeria.<\/p>\n
\nfirst victim, Priscilla Blessing Bentum, 21, a third year student of the
\nUniversity of Education, Winneba, was kidnapped on August 17, 2018 at
\nKansaworodo.<\/p>\n
\nvictim, Ruth Love Quayson, 18, who had just completed Fijai Senior High School
\nin Sekondi was kidnapped on December 4, 2018 at Butumegyabu (BU) junction in
\nTakoradi.<\/p>\n
