Ruth Abakah<\/p>\n<p><strong>The identity of the fourth girl in the case involving the Takoradi missing girls in the Western Region is unravelling.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ruth<br \/>\nAbakah was 19 years of age when she went missing at Diabene, a suburb of<br \/>\nTakoradi, about a year ago without any trace.<\/p>\n<p>The<br \/>\nkidnappers got in touch later and the family paid GH\u00a2300 ransom money but the<br \/>\nmiscreants never released the poor girl.<\/p>\n<p>Ruth<br \/>\ncompleted Diabene Senior High School where she read General Arts in 2018.<\/p>\n<p>She<br \/>\nwas also a Sunday school teacher at Diabene Methodist Church and was last seen<br \/>\non Sunday, July 29, 2018.<\/p>\n<p>The<br \/>\nfamily members of the girl are now claiming that the fourth set of human<br \/>\nremains discovered at Nkroful New Site in Takoradi by the police last week could<br \/>\nbe that of their missing girl and want DNA tests for confirmation.<\/p>\n<p>Three Girls<\/p>\n<p>The<br \/>\nfourth remains were discovered as part of police investigations into the three Takoradi<br \/>\nkidnapping cases that have rocked the country in the past months.<\/p>\n<p>Already,<br \/>\nthe whereabouts of the three girls are unknown as the two Nigerian suspects \u2013<br \/>\nSamuel Udoetuk Wills, 28, and John Oji, 29 \u2013 have given the security agencies a<br \/>\ntough time in disclosing where they are keeping the girls.<\/p>\n<p>4th\u00a0Remains<\/p>\n<p>The<br \/>\nfourth human remains were located in a well in an uncompleted building where<br \/>\nthe main suspect, Samuel Udoetuk Wills, was re-arrested after escaping from<br \/>\npolice custody in December 2018.<\/p>\n<p>A<br \/>\ncertain Evangelist Veronica Cobbinah, who claimed to be the grandmother of Ruth<br \/>\nAbakah, has narrated how the young lady went missing, claiming that it happened<br \/>\non 29thJuly 2018 when Ruth Abakah went to Diabene Methodist Church and<br \/>\nnever returned home.<\/p>\n<p>She<br \/>\nclaimed that when she got back from church her grandchild was not at home and<br \/>\nwas only told by her friends that she received a phone call and left the Sunday<br \/>\nschool service.<\/p>\n<p>She<br \/>\nclaimed that the police in the area assisted the family in the payment of the ransom<br \/>\nto the kidnappers but the girl never came back.<\/p>\n<p>Evangelist<br \/>\nCobbinah added that various announcements to trace the girl were unsuccessful<br \/>\nand reported the case to the Kojokrom police and the Sekondi police but to no<br \/>\navail.<\/p>\n<p>Elder Sister<\/p>\n<p>An<br \/>\nelder sister of the missing girl, Matilda, also corroborated the story and said<br \/>\nthe family made some payments to the suspected kidnappers who talked to her to<br \/>\nget her sister released but to no avail.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe<br \/>\none who spoke to me said they had used my sister\u2019s name to register for MTN<br \/>\nMobile money so we should make the payment through that number which we did.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt<br \/>\nthe time, I was working with MTN so I gave the number to my boss and we<br \/>\nrealised that they used my sister\u2019s National Health Insurance card for the<br \/>\nregistration. So that was how we were convinced that she was in their custody.<br \/>\nWe have so far paid GH\u00a2300 to them,\u201d she recounted.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe<br \/>\nwant the police to be quick about their DNA tests so that we can be comfortable<br \/>\nwith our lives. Right now, we are downhearted,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p>3rd\u00a0Suspect<\/p>\n<p>There<br \/>\nis a third suspect who is said to have been picked up by the police in Nigeria<br \/>\nin connection with the case and already, there are frantic efforts by the<br \/>\nCriminal Investigation Department (CID) to get him extradited to face justice<br \/>\nin Ghana.<\/p>\n<p>The<br \/>\nCID is said to have deployed three of its leading investigators to Nigeria to<br \/>\nsee to the extradition process of Chika John Nnodim who was grabbed on 5th<br \/>\nAugust 2019<\/p>\n<p>The<br \/>\ninvestigators, who are said to be personnel from the Anti-Armed Robbery Unit,<br \/>\naccording to a police source, are to follow the legal processes to expedite the<br \/>\nextradition process.<\/p>\n<p>Suspect<br \/>\nChika John, according to the police source, is also under investigation for<br \/>\nanother offence he had committed in his country.<\/p>\n<p>The<br \/>\nsuspect, according to the CID, was arrested by a joint team of police personnel<br \/>\nfrom Ghana and Nigeria.<\/p>\n<p>Existing Victims<\/p>\n<p>The<br \/>\nfirst victim, Priscilla Blessing Bentum, 21, a third year student of the<br \/>\nUniversity of Education, Winneba, was kidnapped on August 17, 2018 at<br \/>\nKansaworodo.<\/p>\n<p>Second<br \/>\nvictim, Ruth Love Quayson, 18, who had just completed Fijai Senior High School<br \/>\nin Sekondi was kidnapped on December 4, 2018 at Butumegyabu (BU) junction in<br \/>\nTakoradi.<\/p>\n<p>The third victim, Priscilla Mantebea Kuranchie, aged 15, a first-year student of Sekondi College, was kidnapped on December 21, 2018 at a spot near Nkroful junction.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>KIDNAPPED!
