Africa-Press – Ghana. <\/strong><\/span>Ghana\u2019s 4x100m men\u2019s relay team narrowly missed out on a podium finish after finishing fourth in the relay final at the 2025 World Athletics Championship.<\/b><\/p>\n

Ghana\u2019s quartet of Ibrahim Fuseni, Benjamin Azamati, Joseph Paul Amoah and Abdul Rasheed Saminu put on an impressive show in harsh weather conditions in Tokyo, Japan.<\/p>\n

However, their time of 37.93s wasn\u2019t enough in the keenly contested final, which was won by the USA (37.29s). Canada finished second with 37.55s, while the Netherlands took bronze (37.81s).<\/p>\n

The Ghanaian relay team had high hopes going into the finals, especially after setting a new national record (37.79s) in yesterday\u2019s semi-final event, when they finished first.<\/p>\n

But unfortunately they couldn\u2019t break Ghana\u2019s 20-year wait for a medal at the World Athletics Championship, having won a silver and bronze in Helsinki in 2005 courtesy of Ignatius Giasah and Margaret Simpson.<\/p>\n

In other developments, Ghana\u2019s Rose Yeboah, who made the finals of the high jump women\u2019s competition, couldn\u2019t make the top three after placing 15th.<\/p>\n

The two-time African Games gold medallist was unsuccessful in her attempt to clear 1.93 m, thereby exiting the competition.<\/p>\n
