Africa-Press – Ghana. <\/strong><\/span>Kejebril(WR), Nov. 20- Quality education has been given a boost with the provision of a well-equipped library facility for the Kejebril Methodist Municipal Assembly school.<\/p>\n

The library stocked with assorted books, including ICT, Sciences, Social studies, fiction and novels, will help to unearth both the reading and analytical prowess of students in the catchment area and thus contribute to better human resources development in the country.<\/p>\n

Mr Edward Mensah, the Corporate Social Responsibility Manager of the Yinson Ghana, said the collaboration with the Ghana Library Authority to provide a library for its host communities might ultimately enhance quality education, create gender equality, allow for decent jobs and reduce poverty in the area in line with some of the sustainable development goals.<\/p>\n

The library, which is located near Yinson\u2019s operations base in the Western Region, would serve around 2,000 students in Kejebril and surrounding communities. The Ghana Library Authority would be responsible for the management of the library.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn line with Yinson\u2019s commitment to quality education, we hope this library and ongoing literacy programmes will encourage reading in the community. Yinson will continue to invest into the library by continually developing new programmes towards ensuring the community makes full use of the library\u2019s facilities.”<\/p>\n

Mr Mensah said Yinson would hold quarterly literacy programmes and reading competitions, where winners would be sponsored for higher education. Nana Angamatsea VI, Chief of Kejebril, said education played a vital role in the development and lauded the efforts of the company to enhance education in the area.<\/p>\n

Mr Mark Adatekey, the Municipal Director of Education at Ahanta West, said well-rounded education was critical. He said equipping children with knowledge and character would aid in better character formation, help them explore the world around them through books while advancing their adventurous instincts. The Education Director called on parents to support the education of their wards in the area. GNA<\/p>\n
