Africa-Press – Ghana. <\/strong><\/span>The Atwima Nwabiagya South Municipal Assembly in the Ashanti region is to institute annual Easter non-denominational church service as well as music and concert activities, as part of efforts to promote unity and peace in the area.<\/b><\/p>\n

The event will be rotated in the major towns and communities to bring it closer to the people, promote God-fearing and good behavior among the people, while boosting local economic and social activities of the residents.<\/p>\n

Mr. Wisdom Osei Boamah, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), made this known at the maiden Easter non-denominational church service held at Abuakwa.<\/p>\n

He said the people needed to get closer to God to be able to enjoy His salvation, love and peace.<\/p>\n

Mr. Boamah used the occasion to explain the developmental activities and plans of the Assembly to the people as a sign of promoting transparency and accountability at the local level.<\/p>\n

Among the projects were education, health, agriculture, infrastructure, electrification, roads, economic, water, sanitation, various government social intervention projects, and programs in the area.<\/p>\n

He said all projects awarded on contracts were to be completed within six months period to pave way for new ones to be implemented in other communities.<\/p>\n

Mr Boamah, therefore, enjoined all the residents to get involved in the subsequent services in the coming years for God\u2019s blessings.<\/p>\n

This year service, which was held under the theme \u201cAtwima Nwabiagya South for Christ\u201d, brought together politicians, the clergy from different denominations, gospel Artistes from the area, traditional rulers, business owners as well as members of the public.<\/p>\n

The Reverend Dr. Samuel Akwasi Frimpong, Asenemaso District Minister of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, in a sermon commended the MCE and his team for initiating the program.<\/p>\n

He said, the greatest commission of Jesus to His disciples in Matthew 28:18-20, enjoined everyone to spread the gospel and shape lives into proper directions.<\/p>\n

This, he said, could be initiated by a willing leader through multiple methods for the corresponding blessings.<\/p>\n

He said humble, polite, approachable and God-fearing leaders were propagating the gospel and portrayed divine acts with their positions.<\/p>\n

Reverend Frimpong therefore, urged leaders to eschew pride, intimidation and discrimination against their followers and the less privileged people in society.<\/p>\n

The Minister, however, encouraged administrators to take bold, transformational steps towards development without fear since God would protect them.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe expression fear is not recorded 365 times in the Bible which indicates God\u2019s readiness and ability to provide daily protection for His people within a year\u201d, he added.<\/p>\n
