Africa-Press – Ghana. <\/strong><\/span>The Electricity Company of Ghana (Electricity Company of Ghana) will from Tuesday, April 14, commence Phase Two of its transformer replacement and upgrade programme at the Lashibi Primary Substation.<\/b><\/p>\n

The exercise is expected to be completed on Thursday, April 16, 2026, as part of efforts to improve power supply reliability in the area.<\/p>\n

A press release issued by ECG and signed by Dr Charles Nii Ayiku Ayiku, Acting Director of Communication, said the second phase follows the successful completion of Phase One at the Nmai Dzorn Primary Substation.<\/p>\n

It stated that the upgrade forms part of government\u2019s broader commitment to strengthening electricity infrastructure, reducing system overloads, and improving service delivery to customers.<\/p>\n

According to the release, the exercise will involve upgrading an existing transformer capacity at the Lashibi Primary Substation over a three-day period.<\/p>\n

It indicated that the works will require brief planned power outages in affected areas to ensure safety and successful execution of the project.<\/p>\n

The ECG assured customers that measures have been put in place to minimise the duration and impact of the outages, urging residents and businesses to plan accordingly.<\/p>\n

The release added that detailed outage schedules, including time blocks and affected communities, have been outlined and will also be communicated through ECG\u2019s official channels.<\/p>\n

Areas expected to be affected include parts of Community 18, Spintex, Sakumono, Regimanuel Estates, Baatsona, and adjoining communities, with outages scheduled in six-hour intervals across the three-day period.<\/p>\n

The ECG expressed appreciation to customers for their patience and cooperation as the upgrade works are carried out to enhance service delivery.<\/p>\n
