{"id":117247,"date":"2026-04-16T10:17:20","date_gmt":"2026-04-16T10:17:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/ghana\/uncategorized\/president-mahama-praises-shai-osudoku-hospital-performance"},"modified":"2026-04-16T10:52:25","modified_gmt":"2026-04-16T10:52:25","slug":"president-mahama-praises-shai-osudoku-hospital-performance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/ghana\/all-news\/president-mahama-praises-shai-osudoku-hospital-performance","title":{"rendered":"President Mahama Praises Shai Osudoku Hospital Performance"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Ghana. <\/strong><\/span><b>President John Dramani Mahama on Wednesday commended the Shai Osudoku District Hospital at Dodowa in the Greater Accra Region for its outstanding performance in healthcare delivery.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>He noted that the Hospital had recorded zero maternal and infant mortality for several consecutive years, describing the achievement as remarkable.<\/p>\n<p>The President gave the commendation at the launch of the Government\u2019s flagship health sector initiative, the Free Primary Healthcare (FPHC) Programme, at the Shai Osudoku District Hospital.<\/p>\n<p>The FPHC is a Government policy aimed at ensuring that every citizen and legal resident has access to essential healthcare services at the primary level, regardless of insurance status.<\/p>\n<p>The programme seeks to expand access to quality and affordable healthcare nationwide.<\/p>\n<p>President Mahama recalled that 10 years ago, on April 4, 2016, during his previous term in office, he commissioned the Shai Osudoku District Hospital.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am happy to note that the Hospital is still doing very well,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Describing the facility as one of the best-maintained hospitals in the country, the President congratulated the management and staff for their dedication.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is one of the best-kept hospitals. The CEO is here \u2013 ayeekoo. It has gained global recognition beyond the borders of Ghana,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>President Mahama said the Hospital had won several awards consecutively in safe motherhood and had maintained zero maternal and infant mortality for years.<\/p>\n<p>He noted that due to its strong reputation, the Hospital had become a victim of its own success, attracting patients from outside its catchment area, including parts of the Eastern region.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeople travel from far distances to come here either to deliver or seek medical care,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The President commended the Medical Director and staff for their commitment and urged them to maintain the high standards that had earned the Hospital national and international acclaim.<\/p>\n<p>He expressed the hope that health facilities across the country would emulate the example set by the Shai Osudoku District Hospital.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <span style=\"color: #ff6600\">Ghana<\/span> Follow <span style=\"color: #ff6600\">Africa-Press<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Ghana.
