{"id":117260,"date":"2026-04-16T10:30:43","date_gmt":"2026-04-16T10:30:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/ghana\/uncategorized\/volta-region-hosts-third-johnson-ofori-memorial-tournament"},"modified":"2026-04-16T10:54:46","modified_gmt":"2026-04-16T10:54:46","slug":"volta-region-hosts-third-johnson-ofori-memorial-tournament","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/ghana\/all-news\/volta-region-hosts-third-johnson-ofori-memorial-tournament","title":{"rendered":"Volta Region Hosts Third Johnson Ofori Memorial Tournament"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Ghana. <\/strong><\/span><b>The Volta Regional Hockey Association, in collaboration with the Volta Regional Secretariat of the National Sports Authority, will organise the third edition of the Johnson Ofori Memorial Hockey Tournament on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at the Ho Sports Stadium.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The annual event is held in honour of the late Mr Johnson Ofori, former Chairman and Patron of the Volta Hockey Association and Ho Hockey Club, whose dedication significantly contributed to the growth of hockey in the region.<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s tournament, scheduled to commence at 0900 hours, will feature five competitive clubs: Ho Hockey Club, Koforidua Hockey Club, Citizens International Hockey Club, Multistix Hockey Club, and Financiers Hockey Club.<\/p>\n<p>The Volta Regional Sports Director is expected to grace the occasion as the Special Guest of Honour, highlighting the tournament\u2019s role in advancing sports development in the region.<\/p>\n<p>Since its inception, the competition has gained prominence on the regional hockey calendar.
