I expected at least a GH\u00a23 reduction,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>A communique\u0301 signed by Mr Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Spokesperson to the President and Minister of Government Communications, had said the Cabinet\u2010approved measure was in response to rising international petroleum prices, which had significantly driven up ex\u2010pump prices in Ghana.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Ofosu said the temporary intervention would remain in effect for one month, during which government would continue to monitor global oil market trends and assess the need for further policy adjustments to cushion consumers.<\/p>\n<p>From the passengers\u2019 perspective, some commuters urged drivers to embrace the reduction, describing it as a relief that could prevent fare hikes in the short term.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Ishmael Opoku, a passenger, said the measure would reduce tension between drivers and commuters.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis relief protects passengers from the fear of increased fares and helps ensure peace between drivers and passengers,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <span style=\"color: #ff6600\">Ghana<\/span> Follow <span style=\"color: #ff6600\">Africa-Press<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Ghana.
