Ghana. <\/strong> <\/span><b>The Enyan Denkyira Community Bank PLC recorded a profit after tax of GH\u00a21,872,284.00 in 2025, a remarkable performance representing one of the highest profit levels recorded in the bank\u2019s history, its Chairman, Mr Kojo Sam-Wood has announced.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>He said the profit was 64.9 percent increase from the GH\u00a21,725 million recorded in 2024, reflecting the effectiveness of their strategic initiatives, prudent risk managements practices, operational efficacy and the dedication of management and staff.<\/p>\n<p>The bank\u2019s total deposits significantly grew from GH\u00a249,807,072.00 in 2024 to GH\u00a273,719,399.00 in 2025 representing an increase of 48.01 percent while the total income shot up from GHc15,040,769.00 to GHc23,367,559.00 representing 55.36 percent growth.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Sam-Wood, the Board Chairman, declared the profit at the bank\u2019s 43rd Annual General Meeting at Enyan Denkyira in the Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam District of the Central Region.<\/p>\n<p>The shareholders deliberated on the 2025 financial year report, expectations for subsequent years and plans designed to increase the bank\u2019s fortunes.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Sam-Wood disclosed that the bank\u2019s loan and advance portfolio of GHc28,895,850.00 in 2024 increased to GHc52,010,302.00 in 2025, representing a growth of 79.99 percent while maintaining its required benchmarks for Capital Adequacy Ratio, Primary and Secondary Reserves among others, in the 2025 accounting year.<\/p>\n<p>He also noted that its total Assets of GHc66, 563,676.00 in 2024 increased to GHc91, 367,578.00 in 2025, representing a significant growth of 37.26 percent.<\/p>\n<p>The impressive performance indicators, he noted, provided a solid foundation for its future growth, positioning the Bank to take advantage of emerging opportunities within the financial services industry.<\/p>\n<p>He said:\u201cThe Board is therefore encouraged by the performance of the bank and remains committed at pursuing strategies that will further strengthen profitability, enhance stakeholder\/shareholder value and secure the long-term sustainability of the bank.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On corporate governance, Mr Sam-Wood stated that the bank exhibited consistent standards with the mandatory legal provisions and also, its sub-committees and various management committees worked together at ensuring sound business practices throughout the year 2025.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the institution had been extensively involved in positively affecting lives by giving back to society through its corporate social responsibility, continuing with the sponsorship of several activities in their area of operation, like supporting the Traditional Council, Agriculture (farmers), and first and second cycle institutions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe appeal to all stakeholders to deepen our partnership at moving the bank forward to achieve its planned goals and objectives,\u201d he suggested.<\/p>\n<p>On the New Microfinance Sector Framework issued recently by the Bank of Ghana, Mr Sam-Woode informed the gathering that Rural and Community Banks had been reclassified as Community Banks, reflecting their broader role at promoting financial inclusion and community development.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA key requirement of the revised framework is the increase in the minimum paid-up capital for Community Banks from GHc1, 000,000.00 to Ghc5, 000,000.00, which all Rural Banks are required to achieve by December 31, 2026,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, as of December 31, 2025, their bank had a capital of CHc2, 681,420.00, meaning there was a gap that must be addressed to ensure full compliance with the regulatory requirement within the stipulated timeline.<\/p>\n<p>He said the board was appealing to existing stakeholders to consider increasing their shareholdings to enable the bank standalone, remain a fully licensed and regulated financial institution under the revised framework.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe further extend an invitation to prospective investors, members of our communities, business owners, institutions and the general public to invest in Enyan Denkyira Community PLC to become part-owners to contribute towards the growth and development of a strong indigenous financial institution dedicated at supporting local economic development.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTogether, we can position Enyan Denkyira Community Bank PLC to a successfully meet this important milestone and secure a stronger future for the bank,\u201d he assured.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ap-article-footer-note\">Find more news and analyses on <span class=\"ap-highlight-country\">Ghana<\/span> on the <span class=\"ap-highlight-brand\">Africa Press<\/span> website<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211;
