Africa-Press – Ghana. <\/strong><\/span>South Africa remains the epicentre of the omicron outbreak, with experts saying that the overwhelming majority of its thousands of new cases per day are of the new variant.micron cases have been confirmed in at least nine African countries, however, analysis indicates mild symptoms in patients. The countries now reporting Omicron cases include Botswana, Ghana, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Senegal, South Africa, Uganda and Zimbabwe.<\/p>\n

According to the last count, 21 cases of Omicron have been detected in India as the country registered 8,439 new cases in the last 24 hours, 23.7% higher than yesterday. Scientists continue to study the variant and look for ways to tackle its high transmission rate as observed in early cases.<\/p>\n
