Africa-Press – Ghana. <\/strong><\/span>Awudome Tsito (V\/R), Dec. 16- The Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Ghana, has performed a ground-breaking ceremony for work to begin on a water manufacturing project at Awudome Tsito in the Ho West district.<\/p>\n

The project, dubbed Prime Water Project, is to be completed in March next year at a cost of about GHC600,000. Right. Rev. Dr Lt. Col. (Rtd.) Bliss Divine Agbeko, Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church, speaking at the ceremony, said the project, when completed, would support the Church in its ministry.<\/p>\n

He said that the project would also help the Church to minimize its financial reliance on members. The Moderator noted that the Church had a social responsibility to develop communities, adding “we are mandated as a Church to meet not only the spiritual needs of members but also their social needs.”<\/p>\n

He said the long-overdue project would generate income for the Church and also create employment for the youth. Rev. Dr Lawson Dzanku, Clerk of General Assembly-elect of the Church, appealed to members of the Church and philanthropists to donate either in cash or in-kind for the early completion of the project.<\/p>\n

He disclosed that two boreholes were being drilled at the project site to provide water and also four ‘Koyo’ machines were purchased in addition to other equipment for the take-off of the project.<\/p>\n

Present were Rev. Dr Emmanuel Kobla Amey, Clerk of General Assembly, Presbyter Charles Sitsofe Sakyi, Presbyter Executive and Rev. Elisha Attu, Director of Programmes, Ecumenical and Social Relations, all of the church.<\/p>\n
