Africa-Press – Ghana. <\/strong><\/span> Ride-hailing service, Yango Ghana, has started a new promotional initiative to give drivers on the app the opportunity to grab home some guaranteed prizes this festive season.<\/p>\n

The giveaway, dubbed, \u201cGhana Yango Partners Drivers Championship\u201d, takes the form of a competition where both committed and lucky drivers are selected or nominated and awarded different prizes for their dedicated efforts.<\/p>\n

The \u201cChampionship\u201d, as it is simply called, was rolled out on November 29, 2021 and is expected to come to a close on December 31, 2021, a statement from Yango Ghana, copied to the Ghana News Agency, has said.<\/p>\n

It is open to all licensed Ghanaian drivers who are registered with the Yango service, it explained.<\/p>\n

Drivers have the chance to participate or get nominated \u201cFor the Best Drivers\u201d and \u201cFor the Luckiest Drivers\u201d categories.<\/p>\n

The statement explained that winners in the first category would be selected weekly from a pool of eligible registered participants based on the maximum number of rides they were able to complete within the given week.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll drivers with at least 10 rides per week are also entered in the ‘For the Luckiest Drivers’ giveaway category and winners selected through an automated random selection technique.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe ultimate winners each week will take home new Samsung Galaxy A12 smartphones. Other prizes include grocery bundles and gift cards. The more trips completed, the higher the chances of winning.”<\/p>\n

The promotion, it said, had already spotlighted some driving champions who had gone home smiling with giveaway prizes in hand in the first and second weeks of December.<\/p>\n

Mr Kwame Collins Gaah, married with three children, was adjudged best driver of last week\u2019s championship with 189 trips.<\/p>\n

While commenting on his achievement in the competition, he said he was extremely excited and proud of himself for winning the grand prize.<\/p>\n

Driving with Yango for the past two years, he explained, had always presented minimal stress, expressing optimism that the ride-hailing service was on its way to soon becoming the leading giant in Ghana.<\/p>\n

Second best driver of the week, Mr Martey Prince Tawiah, from a family of nine, said he could be on the road for 24 hours a day taking riders to their various destinations.<\/p>\n

Even though he was new to the Yango app, he topped other participants to place second with 177 trips.<\/p>\n

Following Mr. Martey very closely, was Philip Kwame Owusu, claiming the third-place prize with 176 completed trips.<\/p>\n

He recently graduated from the St. Mary\u2019s Training College and had only been with Yango since September this year.<\/p>\n

The announcement and notification of his fortune caught him by surprise, he said.<\/p>\n

The Championship is still open for eligible drivers to take their chances on winning by visiting https:\/\/yango.yandex.com\/action\/ghana\/give_rides_win_prizes, filling out and submitting the electronic application form made available before time runs out on December 31.<\/p>\n

From there, the next step is to go online, take orders, complete rides, and keep fingers crossed, the statement said.<\/p>\n
