Africa-Press – Ghana. <\/strong><\/span>Ghanaian striker Caleb Ekuban is likely to return to Turkey, less than a year after his acrimonious departure, as he is close to joining Besiktas.<\/p>\n

Ghanasoccernet.com can exclusively reveal that talks are at an advanced stage for the Genoa flop to join the Turkish giants.<\/p>\n

Ekuban forced Trabszonspor to sell him last summer as he signed a long-term contract with Italian side Genoa.<\/p>\n

However, he has been abysmal with just one goal this season, coming in a cup match. He has not scored in the league.<\/p>\n

Besiktas’ interest is not based on his current form but his exploits when he donned the colours of Trabzonspor for three seasons.<\/p>\n

He established himself as one of the deadliest finishers in Turkey, the reason Trabzonspor were desperate to keep him.<\/p>\n

They offered Ekuban a new deal but Ekuban turned it down, claiming he wanted to move to Italy and be close to his family.<\/p>\n

Genoa reportedly paid 1.8 million euros for his services and so far, it looks like a bad business with Ekuban low on confidence and failing to lead the attack.<\/p>\n

Genoa are one of the candidates for relegation in Serie A as they occupy the 18th position after 19 games.<\/p>\n
