Africa-Press – Ghana. <\/strong><\/span> Coach Ebenezer Sefah, a football scout, has said that the current issues in the senior national football team, Black Stars, is due to lack of a proper transitional system from the junior level to the senior level.<\/p>\n

The Black Stars failed to progress to the round of 16 in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) after placing last in their group with just a point.<\/p>\n

In an interview with the GNA Sports, Coach Sefah, said there was the need for the country to take a critical look at the transitional stages of the various national teams from the youth level to the senior team.<\/p>\n

\u201cHow do you rebuild a national team? I think the only thing Ghana needs is to manage our transition very well, we should know how to monitor players, in Ghana, and it seems that after every tournament we forget about our squad and go out searching another batch of players.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor example, the just ended U-20 team who won, apart from Issahaku Fatawu and Philemon Baffour who are in the Black Stars, we have forgotten about the rest, how is the FA and technical directors monitoring these players. We need to manage the transitions well and make sure we promote them well\u201d, he stated.<\/p>\n

The Football Scout also said he was in support of the dissolving the technical bench saying \u201cyes, the entire technical team of the Black Stars should be dissolved and I’m very happy I heard coach Milo is gone, I think that the rest of the technical team should also go\u201d.<\/p>\n

On the issue of \u2018juju\u2019 allegations that hit the camp during the AFCON, Coach said he does not believe in \u201cjuju\u201d. \u201cPlayers have their personal reasons for not playing for their national team, I don’t know why some of the players don\u2019t want to play for the national team when the country needs them most; well, it is their personal reasons.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don’t believe in juju, it\u2019s about training and hard work and whatever you believe in is what is going to work for you. If the so-called juju works in football, then India, Benin and the likes would have won the World Cup,\u201d he added. The Black Stars have been a major topic in the last few weeks following their unimpressive performance in the ongoing AFCON in Cameroon.<\/p>\n
