Africa-Press – Ghana. <\/strong><\/span>Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl has debunked multiple reports in the media that Ghanaian defender Mohammed Salisu wanted to leave in the January transfer window.<\/p>\n

Reports went rife on the former Real Valladolid defender joining Newcastle United with a \u00a340million transfer plus add-ons mooted on transfer deadline day. Reports further suggested that the Magpies wanted to finalize a deal in the early stages of January.<\/p>\n

However, Hasenhuttl in an interview revealed that there was no player ready to leave in the just ended winter transfer window when asked about his defender.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs I said before \u2013 no player wanted to leave this club in the winter.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd if, we would definitely say no to everything, because we will not give our players a chance in the winter to leave because we need them here.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe really need them.\u201d Salisu has played 38 times for Saints in all competitions since moving from Real Valladolid in 2020.<\/p>\n
